The BroadMap workshops have also been hosted in Stockholm, Sweden. Organised by the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB), the workshops took place on 16th and 17th June 2016 and gathered a total of 28 participants.

Representatives from the Swedish police, fire and rescue services, health care, coast guard, security police, traffic agency, post and telecom agency, as well as SOS-Alarm, the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, and Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute, all attended the workshop.

The workshop commenced with a short

about first responder work and how it will change in the future. Then the BroadMap project was officially introduced, as well as the work of MSB and the Swedish Police Agency on broadband solutions and how BroadMap will contribute to future work of these two Swedish agencies.

The participants were then divided into three discussion groups focusing on (1) devices, (2) applications and (3) networks. There was a break in the group discussions, when participants listened to the lecture “The future is here, our challenge”. The lecture was very engaging and consisted of a mix of short videos and presentations.

The workshop ended with the three discussion groups presenting their conclusions. MSB also explained what will be done with the workshop results and the next steps in the BroadMap project.
